Effect of reverse hammering on fracture union in transverse fracture of long bone nailing

Reverse hammering is the method applied during nailing of transverse long bone fracture to decrease gap between ends ensure healing. This study aims asses effectiveness reverse on union in as well possible complications this method. Seventy six patients with (femur, tibia, & humerus) treated close reduction and internal fixation interlocking were enrolled a prospective conducted at department orthopaedics, BMC Sagar from Dec. 2012 March 2021. Union grading was done per Hammer criteria. Mean time achieve bony 4.5 months. In our seven out seventy patient end three month having radiological grade or less which nine only two nonunion. Our results have been encouraging. The operation technically demanding but provides an excellent intramedullary bones. reduce should be considered for requiring faster return function after injury.
